Defenders Lodge

Location: Palo Alto, CA

Defenders Lodge was designed to serve veterans receiving healthcare services at the VA Palo Alto Veterans Administration hospital. All guestrooms are designed for maximum accessibility for a clientele that includes a high number of disabled guests. Amenities include a lounge with a comfortable residential atmosphere, a hotel dining room, a reading room, and a large residential style kitchen for use by the guests. The design of the building shape and footprint was made challenging by the narrow angular site.
